Here’s a clip of the Australian Outback Gridiron team taking the field in their final game of the tournament, going up against Finland.
RESULTS: Finland defeated Australia, with a final score of 35-0. This is the first time in the tournament that Australia was kept off the scoreboard, despite a number of good scoring positions.
#16 Rhyanna Edbrooke was named Australian MVP for the final match of the competition.

This result sees Australia finishing in 6th place overall. USA took home the Gold for the third year in a row, with Canada picking up Silver, and Mexico winning the Bronze.

It’s the Australian Outback Gridiron team’s final game of the 2017 IFAF Women’s World Championships tomorrow, and Gridiron Australia has put up a preview.

The final game in the Australian Outback Gridiron team’s campaign kicks off at 4:30am AEST against Finland, and you can catch all the action live via this stream.

RESULTS: Mexico defeated Australia 31-10, which unfortunately eliminates the Australian Outback Gridiron team from medal contention.
Australia got on the board in the second quarter with a Safety scored by #93, Jasmin Collins, followed by a touchdown in the third quarter by #6 Kristy Moran.
Mexico held onto their 13-10 lead after an Australian touchdown was waved off after play was determined to be dead before the ball was stripped.
The momentum seemed to swing against Australia after that, with Mexico running in 3 more touchdowns to seal the win for the North American side.
#93 Jasmin Collins was named MVP for Australia.
Australian Coach, Dr. Jen Welter had lots of positive things to say about both teams in the post game press conference, which you can watch below.
The Australian Outback Gridiron team will be back in action for their last game of the tournament on Saturday July 1st at 4:30am AEST.

Tomorrow, bright and early, it’s game on!
The Australian Outback Gridiron Team will take on Mexico at 4:30am AEST for their second game in the 2017 IFAF Women’s World Championships.
You can watch live and support the team via a free stream.
Mexico is yet to register a point on the field in this tournament, after suffering a 29-0 defeat at the hands of Team USA.

It’s game day!
The Australian Outback Gridiron team received a letter of encouragement from Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, in the lead up to their first game in the tournament.
Today’s game will kick off at 12:30pm AEST, and you can watch the game online for free.
RESULTS: Canada defeated Australia 31-6 in a very hard fought game from the Australian side.
Australia’s historic touchdown was scored by #6 Kristy Moran.

The team’s first game will be against the host nation, Canada, and will be streamed live on the Football Canada website on Sunday at 12.30pm AEST. We’ll update this post with links when they’re available.

Dr. Jen Welter has reduced the practice sessions to one per day in order to allow the team to rest and recover prior to their first game on Sunday. Dr. Welter is using film review to prepare the women mentally for the game.

Football Canada has released a preview of the 2017 IFAF Women’s World Championships for those who wish to learn more about the tournament:
It’s Day 4 of the Australian Outback Gridiron Training Camp and the team practice is wet and dreary, but the women continue to work hard.

It’s Day 3 of Australian Outback Gridiron Training Camp. Here Dr. Jen Welter, Outback Head Coach, and Coach Anthony Stone, address the team during training.

The Australian Outback Gridiron team had the chance to watch the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League win against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in their final preseason game. The team received a shoutout on the big screen during the game.
The final score was 42 Lions, 10 Roughriders.
On Day 2 of Training Camp, the team test out the facilities at Simon Fraser University.

On Day 1 of Training Camp, the Australian Outback Gridiron Team arrive at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and receive their gear.
15th June 2017 AEST
The Australian Outback Gridiron Team have touched down in Vancouver. They will soon be heading to Simon Fraser University in Vancouver to begin training camp. Their first game will be on Sunday 25th June 2017 at 12.30pm AEST. The game will be streamed online, and more information will be released closer to the event.
